UNSTABLE IN EXCESS: (MINI-OILS)
ALTHOUGH I MYSELF AM NO MINIMALIST, I FIND THAT FOCUS IS MORE NATURAL IN DISASSOCIATION TO THE EXCESS OF OUR CULTURE. SAME GOES ON A MOLECULAR LEVEL, WHERE A NEUTRAL ATOM IS MORE STABLE WITHOUT EXCESS INTERACTIONS. THIS STABILITY IS COMPROMISED WITH BONDING TO ANOTHER NEUTRAL ATOM CAUSING THE FORMED COMPOUND TO HAVE A NEGATIVE CHARGE. THIS NEGATIVE CHARGE WOULD CAUSE A CASCADE OF BONDING EVENTS, PARALLELING THE CONCEPT OF FALLING INTO THE ABYSS OF MATERIALISM. IN NATURE, THE FLOW OF ENERGY IS REVERSED TO ALWAYS ACHIEVE MAXIMUM STABILITY.

THIS PIECE IS A SEVEN COLOR SUICIDE CUT, AND MY FIRST TRUE EXPERIENCE WITH COLOR OVERLAY. I WORKED ON THIS PRINT OVER THE COURSE OF MY TIME SPENT IN MAINE THIS YEAR, AND SPENT MANY MANY HOURS CUTTING WHILE THE SUN FELL BEHIND THE PINES ACROSS THE BAY, AND WAKING UP PRINTING WHILE THE SUN WAS JUST RISING AND LIGHTING THE DAY.
